Hi all and welcome to our regular feature where we bring you the best of Steam Weeklong deals, Bundle Stars and Humble Bundle!
Steam Weeklong Deals
Well, it’s a Monday and this week our Lord and Master Gaben has 159 deals to tempt us with. Not a huge amount caught my eye this week, but I did spot the legendary RPG Valkyria Chronicles (£5.09) which is just fantastic and I am eyeing it up so much! Other picks include Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Deluxe Bundle (-25%, £26.24) which, yes, may sound about as interesting as watching paint dry but just try it and then I dare you to try and stop playing. In fact, I double dare you. For maximum enjoyment a controller or, even better, a wheel is highly recommended. We have a very old Microsoft Sidewinder wheel (for Win 98!) here at Vox HQ and it works perfectly. Oh, and this bundle also includes Bus Driver if that’s more your thing. Finally, if you just want to break everything, you can get your Red Faction on with the Red Faction Collection (-80%, £5.99). This neat little package includes the old-school Red Faction and Red Faction 2 as well as Guerrilla, Armageddon a piece of DLC and two soundtracks. I have some very fond memories of the first two games and I got an almost insane amount of satisfaction out of Guerrilla. I’m sorry, but knocking buildings down with a large hammer just never gets old!
Bundle Fest 3 is about to end, but there is still a little time to grab some deals if you feel so inclined. New bundles from last week are the LEGO Batman 3 Complete Bundle (£6.69, contains LEGO Batman 3 + DLC) and the LEGO Superheroes Bundle (£10.99, contains LEGO Batman, LEGO Batman 2 and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes + some DLC) but you only have 12 hours left (from 20:00 28/09/15) if you want to partake. Also new is the Sleuth Bundle (£2.08) which contains 6 sleuth-em-ups including Shadowgate (2014 version) and some older games such as Uninvited: Macventure Series which contains both the Mac and Apple IIGS versions of the game. There are even some hilarious Sherlock Holmes FMV games here such as Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Mummy’s Curse and being the Holmes fan that I am, I totally went there. Other new bundles include the Cosmic Bundle (£1.46) which contains indie games such as Divide By Sheep and the Extreme Sims 3 Bundle (£2.24) which features 12 EXTREME games and includes Roller Coaster Rampage (I have this one, it’s fun for a while) and Scania Truck Driving Simulator which, if it’s anything like Euro Truck Simulator 2 will be surprisingly good fun. The final new bundle for this week is the Guncraft Bundle (£1.51) which, as you might imagine, contains Guncraft and 6 DLC but, sadly, I can’t get too excited about it.
With 22 Steam Bundle still live, there is plenty to see here and there is still time to grab the Primal Carnage Complete Bundle, the Retro Legends Bundle, the All Stars 3 Bundle and the RPG Heroes Bundle 2 which I mentioned last week. Go get ’em!
If you want to grab the Total War Bundle I mentioned last week, then you have until tomorrow to secure your seat. New additions include Total War: SHOGUN 2 Collection and Napoleon Total War at the pay more than the average level (which is currently $10.11. Be aware, though, that the Steam Keys for this bundle are not all individual, some are grouped. As an example, Ben owns Total War: Rome II so the plan was to gift me the base game and have the DLC for himself, but sadly it all comes as one key. The same apples to Medieval II: Total War, Viking: Battle For Asgard and Shogun: Total War Collection. It’s not necessarily a problem, but just something to be aware of if you already own some of these games.
There is a new Weekly Bundle in the shape of the Fantastic Arcade Bundle. This bundle contains 12 games split evenly across two pay levels. Pay what you will to receive Hellmouth, ALEA, HOKY, Risky Bison, Wheels of Aurelia and the awesomely titled CRAP! No One Loves Me. These games are all DRM free and do not appear to have Steam keys. The highest pay level is $8 and for that you also get FEZ, Hotline Miami, LUFTRAUSERS, No Brakes Valet, MirrorMoon EP and FRACT OSC. With the execption of No Brakes Valet, these games all come with DRM Free versions and Steam Keys. No Brakes Valet includes DRM Free and Android versions.
There is also a shiny new Books Bundle featuring Forbidden Comics. This bundle includes a selection of comics that have, for the most part and for one reason or another, either been banned or challenged. At the pay what you want level, you can snag titles such as League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen 3 (banned) and The Frank Book (challenged). For putting down more than the average (currently $11.65) you can secure titles including The Boys: Herogasm (banned) and Sidescrollers (challenged). At the top pay level of $15 you can also grab Wytches Vol 1, Not Funny Haha and an audiobook titled Information Doesn’t Want To Be Free which is read by Wil Wheaton. If you’re curious, you can also click on the title on the Humble page and in the information panel you can follow a link to find the reasons that the title caused offence.
Finally, moving over to the Mobile Bundle, Humble Mobile Bundle 15, which I covered last week, is still available for your portable gaming pleasure.
That concludes our look at the deals this week. Please let me know if you see any good deals you think I should mention!
